When someone builds a new house, before entering the house, the house is purified through Griha Pravesh Puja, Vastu Puja, Kul Devi Puja and Havan, and by inviting the deities at that place, they are worshipped. It is done so that happiness, peace and prosperity remain in that house. On the date and time of new home entry, house entry worship, Vastu Puja, Havan etc. is done. Therefore, one should enter the house at an auspicious time so that the happiness, prosperity and progress of the people living in the house remains.
After the completion of the ritual of worship, one should enter the new house under the sunlight with Mangal Kalash.
The house should be decorated with bandanavar, rangoli, flowers. Fill pure water in Mangal Kalash and place coconut in it between eight leaves of mango or Ashoka. Make a swastika sign on the vase and coconut with kumkum. At the time of entering the new house, the owner and mistress of the house should enter the new house by taking five auspicious things like coconut, yellow turmeric, jaggery, rice, milk with them. The idol of Lord Ganesha, Dakshinavarti conch shell, Shree Yantra should be taken in the house on the day of Griha Pravesh. One should enter a new house with Mangal songs. The man should first enter the new house by raising the right leg and the woman with the left leg.
It is believed that doing this brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the house and all kinds of defects are removed.
